Top chop 2

Front roof post is tacked and ready to weld.
door is in getting there. Needs a little more work on front weld area!
This quarter window is done. A little bit of light sanding and you won't hardly be able to tell the window was rewelded.
The door top is welded back
in and finnished here. Had to make another filler for the top
of the door like the top of the quarter window.

Had to split the door post and reweld it to make the inside
line back up right. It didn't have to be moved much but
little details like this make the difference between a good
job and a bad one! I like to make things look like they were made that way from the factory.
Shot of the new quarter patch I put in.
Welds are almost finnished off here.
As you can see the fender will need a lot of work too but
that's another story!

This roof was cut in half long ways but not from side to side.  Some I do quarter. It usally makes less work to do so!
This top was chopped 3 and 1/2 inches and that is enough that the sides of the car have to be pushed in and the top post
spread out.  That makes a lot more work to keep the roof above the header in the right shape. It tends to pucker up in
the center.

That's it for now!  That should be enough to let you see a bit of how it's done.
